Absolute Yachts fascinates fans with “Navetta 75 and 48 Coupé” double USA debut at FLIBS

Absolute Yachts , double USA debut at FLIBS

Absolute Yachts: Navetta 75 – The Absolute Sphere

Fans of the Absolute Yachts brand took their first look at the flawlessly executed flagship Navetta 75 in American waters on Face Dock 5F at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, now in its 63rd year. Sharing its name with a unique shape – the Absolute Sphere – makes some wish they listened more in math class. Thanks to the Italian shipyard, geometric forms have never looked this good, so much so… when unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Navetta 75 captured the Best Interior Design award at the exclusive World Yachts Trophies 2022.

absolute yachts navetta 75 Stateside, the crowd continued to be wowed by the Absolute Sphere’s style emulating perfection, wholeness and harmony in a pure and perfect form demonstrated by: the large windows and high ceilings; single level design architecture which offers the ultimate reward in comfort; and incorporating a new tradition bordering the aft terrace with transparent glass parapets that deliver a view to the big blue, which in all certainty, beats the former fiberglass configuration.

Three more appealing accouterments receiving much admiration include: the inclusion of the modular furniture which allows you to personalize the aft to your own will; separate stairways to and from the bow and stern making it a breeze to pass from the main deck to the flybridge, which itself boasts of a newly designed helm station; and lastly, the overall aesthetics of the main deck as the natural light filtering through accentuates the fine woods and fabric wall coverings.

Absolute Yachts: 48 Coupé – The Absolute Horizon

absolute-yachts-48-coupe-esterni-4Sporty in styling and stocky in her stance – the 48 Coupé which is Absolute Yachts’s second new FLIBS debut has too, dazzled those in her USA pathway. Based on the 47 FLY, Absolute Yachts has gone full circle returning to its roots with the 48 Coupé Absolute Horizon; it’s also going to great lengths to lower its carbon footprint. A set of flexible monocrystaline silicon, double-glazed solar panels have been integrated into the hardtop, one of which is transparent to allow the flow of natural light but limit the heat, so as to, not turn the room into an oven.

Absolute’s pledge to sustainability is beyond venerable, seeing that, these fabrications are not generally found on vessels under 50 feet. Remember too, that by using the panels and embracing solar technology as a form of power, rewards boaters peace and quiet at anchor sans le générateur (that’s the generator for those in doubt).

48-coupe-interni-1What’s more, the motor yacht categorized as a sport cruiser captivates her onboard audience with an aft cockpit and swim platform, voiced by many to be comparable in magnitude to the 60 FLY. Aft area comparisons aside, one thing is for sure – nothing compares to the infinite and unobstructed “Absolute Horizon” view offered to you. And with that said, let’s see what Absolute has on its horizon…

52 FLY – Absolute Direction

An Absolute Yachts press conference is as exciting as a World Cup soccer match, you don’t know what to expect when it starts, but can guarantee you’ll be left speechless. Such was the case when CCO Cesare Mastroianni and Rob Bowman, director of US-based affairs, presented the upcoming 52 FLY – The Absolute Direction to the marine press corps.

52-FLY-esterni-4Set to enter the water world at the Miami International Boat Show this coming February of 2023, the 52 FLY expresses, or shall I say advances, the award-winning builder’s ability to incorporate extraordinary livability into a denser dimension. For example, two hallmarks of the range will include a flybridge with a stern terrace and spacious cockpit terrace linked to the saloon and galley; and a foredeck with settee, table and sunbed.

The International Yachting Media will be counting down the four months we must wait in order to see what “DIRECTION” Absolute Yachts has chosen for the 52 FLY. What is already crystal clear from the preprimary renderings – it’s certain to generate the same cheer as your team scoring that winning World Cup goal!

Electric Corvetta 24 on the market: the dolce vita of the future.

///

The new electric Corvetta 24 wins everyone over: zero environmental impact and traction aesthetics.

Giorgio Mussini shipyard’s new Corvetta has recently been launched on the market, this time in an electric version. The historic Portofino-based shipyard led by founder Giorgio and his son Gaetano has developed a unit they have been dreaming of for years: a day cruiser with almost zero environmental impact.

electric corvetta 24Precisely during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company pushed the accelerator of creativity and resourcefulness by combining its handcrafted product with electric propulsion.

The propulsion unit was developed and supplied by E4Boat, a network of highly specialized and innovative companies in advanced robotics, electrified and hybrid propulsion and shipbuilding.

The electric Corvetta 24 thus presents itself as an environmentally and financially friendly recreational boat, dedicated to families taking a day trip and slow tourism whether at sea or on the lake.

Corvetta 24 – Design

Featuring elegant and sophisticated lines, the icon of the Giorgio Mussini shipyard that is a symbol of the dolce vita in Portofino is now green. The yard’s first ecological boat astonishes and conquers, taking nothing away from aesthetics and tradition but, on the contrary, adding an important step forward in terms of savings and environmental pollution. Only plus points for this luxurious and exciting craft, almost 8 metres long, characterized by a fibreglass hull, a very deep V-shaped bow and a hull designed to enhance the strengths of the day cruiser: speed, handling and incredible seaworthiness even in very difficult conditions.

All this is combined with precious mahogany or teak finishes that unify the boat and give it that air of craftsmanship and warmth that wood can give.

Electric propulsion

The engine of this corvetta-24-detailCorvetta 24 is the real revolution: permanent magnet electric propulsion generating a minimum power of 30kW with a static power converter and battery modules for a total of 65kWk which translates into an autonomy of no less than 4 hours for the owner.

Not only is the environmental impact reduced to zero, but another important peculiarity comes into play: you will be able to navigate listening only to the sound of the sea.

In fact, the electric engine, unlike the endothermic one, guarantees an unprecedented silence that renews the classic experience at sea aboard a Corvetta and allows the owner to drive and listen only to the music of the sea beating against the hull.

The new electric Corvetta 24 makes a real leap forward for Giorgio Mussini shipyard, which has always been a producer of fine yachts, with tradition in its heart and a mind in the future, as this new model on the market demonstrates.

On test. FIM 470 Regina: class, power and lots of light

//////

I had been waiting a long time for testing the FIM 470 Regina, the latest addition to the magnificent collection of FIM – Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi, and finally the day has come. I had already assimilated her beauty and innovations on paper, but when I saw her docked at the Marina di Varazze, I immediately realized that what I knew was just the tip of the iceberg.
Indeed, you can only perceive certain things by getting on board, exploring the spaces, putting your hands on the control console and facing the sea.  Every corner of this open sports yacht designed by
Paolo Ferragni is thought out in a modular manner. However, it is not enough to say that it is possible to modify the exterior and interior spaces as required, because this jewel is built to adapt to all needs, with the ultimate aim of providing the maximum living experience and leaving guests completely immersed in an elegant and refined atmosphere, where everything is intended to seduce and amaze.

And so it did. This yacht has completely enchanted me, and now I will tell you why.

fim 470 regina side view

The FIM 470 Regina in detail

I want to tell you about her as she appeared before my eyes. At 15.10 metres long and with a beam of 4.40 metres, her spaces are absolutely enviable. The stern cockpit is mechanized, raising and lowering as required: in one mode it is perfect for facilitating the launching or hauling of a tender or jet ski, revealing two retractable steps. But in an instant it lifts up to show its full extent, creating a single spacious central area that ensures maximum liveability.

Spaces are designed to be exploited to the full. The boat is designed to make the most of open air spaces, thanks to the moving stern and bow systems. The forward sundeck translates sideways to create a true beach area, a layout that the designers have dubbed “Bow Life”: by dividing the sun deck in half, a reinforced glass panel can be walked on, providing stunning light for one of the two owner’s cabins, a table can be added and turned into a dining area, and it can even be filled with water to create a small swimming pool… wonderful.

The aft cockpit can also be extended by means of a mechanism that divides the sundeck. This creates a spacious central area that is perfect for enjoying a relaxing day at sea, diving and lounging on the elegantly finished couches.

The helm station is spacious, modern, dominated by the black colour. I can’t wait to get my hands on the steering wheel, which is a piece of craftsmanship made especially for this boat, but I have to wait a little longer for that, first I want to get below deck.

fim-470-regina top viewTo call it bright is an understatement. Natural light pervades the two splendid owner’s cabins where large windows allow the sun’s rays to penetrate fully, illuminating the spaces and leaving a rarely found view of the sea.

The two owner’s cabins are to two junior suites filled with details of pure elegance, many of them designed by Liu Jo. In the main owner’s cabin, the double bed can be split in two and a reinforced glass on the bow opens up above your head, letting in plenty of natural light that joins that of the large side windows. We are talking about a four-metre room, so spacious that it feels like being in a 60-footer.

Both cabins have a ensuite head with shower, sanitary ware and elegant Nobili enamelled steel fittings. Every corner conceals a drawer, a hideaway wardrobe, and the look is never dull: the headboards of the beds are in hand-stitched Primo Fiore leather, the mattresses are of superlative quality and comfort, the lighting is all indirect LED, and each of the two rooms has its own climate control, as are the audio and video devices. All this is Full Domotics, meaning that everything is controllable from an app (but also with a classic interface): the icing on the cake of an open yacht that has definitely raised the bar.

Sea Trial

If the look has literally seduced me, resting my hands on the steering wheel sends a shiver down my spine. It is obvious that having something so exclusive in your hands leads you to treat it with the utmost attention, but I quickly overcome this reverential fear because I feel very comfortable: it is time to start the test of the FIM 470 Regina.

The sea conditions are quite tricky, with waves of about a metre and a half and a lot of wind: there are 12 of us on board including me. As we leave the marina and get familiar with the instruments, I look up and realize that there are six of us on the bridge, four seated and two standing.

We attack the sea, it’s really rough, but the hull is perfectly designed, it slices the wave in half decisively, limiting the inevitable bounce by quite a bit, and it does it constantly, one wave after another, so much so that I’m tempted to keep putting the throttles down.

The boat gets up awningon plane at about 12 knots and from there I speed up to cruising speed: the engine revs up to 2700, the speed is 26 knots and we are consuming about 155 l/h.

The boat is revealing all its sportiness. The two Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines with 600 hp each are giving me a tremendous boost, the hull does the rest. I turn slightly to port, take in the sea, and turn for a moment to see how the others on board with me are: from their faces they are really enjoying it, and so I decide that we can give ourselves one last thrill.

I turn sharply to starboard and put the throttles down a bit more, the Fim 470 Regina is touching 30 knots and the waves seem even higher than before: it’s almost a challenge, a fun challenge that gives everyone a thrill. Despite the wind and a few drops of rain, we are all amazed: no creaking, no vibration, no hesitation. What a beautiful boat!

Once ashore, I still have all the emotions of this dizzying hour at sea on me. I linger a moment longer to look at her, she is beautiful there is little to say. But that’s not all; she’s elegant and sporty at the same time, she’s gritty but attractive, she’s big, spacious without compromising her agility.

I realize that I have had a rare experience, from the front row moreover, and I think that next summer I would like to be nowhere else but on board this wonderful yacht.

Wally wallywind130 and wallywind150: details of the innovative sailing yachts unveiled

///

Wally presents renderings of its new sailing yachts wallywind130 and wallywind150, built with pre-preg carbon fibre for exceptional performance.

wallywind130 and wallywind150 expand the Wally family

While building continues on the wallywind110, the Wally shipyard does not stop: the in-house design team headed by Luca Bassani, in fact, has been working hand-in-glove with renowned naval architect firm judel+vrolijk & co and design studio Santa Maria Magnolfi to develop the new wallywind130 and wallywind150 sailing superyachts.

Both models respect the values that characterize the Monaco-based brand, part of the Ferretti Group: a carbon hull highlighting performance potential, clean lines, and an elegant interior combining functionality and hedonism.

Wally is re-affirming its sailing roots with the launch of these designs,” says Wally Managing Director Stefano de Vivo.Alongside the wallywind110, the wallywind130 and wallywind150 represent the pinnacle of carbon composite construction for blissful cruising and exhilarating racing. We liken the boats to the Grand Turismo cars, which is to say powerful and supremely comfortable. I believe these are the best round-the world sailing machines ever created.”

The wallywind150 – adds Wally Founder and Chief Designer Luca Bassani is the natural evolution of the Wally144 Kauris IV launched in 2020. It includes some Wally iconic features, such as the cockpit protected by the high bulwarks, the Terrace-on-the-sea and the raised saloon. On the other hand, it also introduces a few more revolutionary features such as the forward guest area which doubles as a tender garage when not in use, a truly private owner’s terrace aft as well as a new interior layout to enhance flexibility for the owner.”

Exteriors reflect Wally’s DNA

Wally-wallywind130-exteriorsThe main strength of the wallywind130 and the wallywind150 is the clean design, with a huge raised salon that flows smoothly into the cockpit without a single change in levels. No fewer than three social zones occupy more than a third of the boat’s length to create an entertaining space that is unparalleled on yachts of this size. Among them is the famous ‘Terrace-on the sea” that Wally pioneered in 1998 with Tiketitan. Twin helm stations are discretely positioned just inside the raised bulwarks, allowing guests to be as involved in the sailing.

Sail controls and navigation displays are set amidships, but there is barely a rope to be seen. Wally’s Magic Trim system means that the main and self-tacking jib are set and adjusted at the push of a button using hidden hydraulic rams. Just the gigantic, custom-made spinnaker sheet winches on the quarter give the game away.

Beneath the foredeck is hidden a tender well for storing a generously sized tender (4.50m – 14’ 9’’ – on the wallywind130; 5.00+m – 16’ 4’’ – in the wallywind150) completely out of sight. On the wallywind150, this well doubles as a forward guest cockpit that can be converted into a cushion-lined dining area or lounge.

Transom houses an hydraulic passerelle that stows flush and can be angled up to the quayside or down for elegant access to the water.

Technology at the service of performance

The full carbon Wally-wallywind150-interiorconstruction guarantees exceptional hull stiffness, rapid acceleration and great response on the helm. Full pre-preg vacuum lamination with careful post curing at 85°C ensures that lamination is flawless and weight is kept to an absolute minimum.

A retractable keel system allows both superyachts to switch from performance to shallow-waters cruising mode. The twin rudder setup similarly balances fingertip control under way with easy access.

A variable pitch propeller provides optimum thrust under power while folding under sail to offer almost no drag. Bow and stern thrusters round out the manoeuvrability of the new wallywind line, which naturally uses Wally’s underwater anchor launching system to keep the purity of the lines around the bow and move the weight aft to reduce pitching.

Central to both boats’ design is Wally’s smart “double deck” layout, which puts the forward cockpit under the spectacular coachroof. It features an almost dreamlike structure combining carbon ribs with vast curved panes of glass and delicately lit panels. The result is a breath-taking view, a spectacular dining zone and a scenographic open-air lounge.

Endless cruising possibilities aboard wallywind130 and wallywind150

Below deck, the wallywind130 an accommopdate up to 8 guests, giving the owner the choice of a cabin forward or right aft where the broader beam allows facilities including a private TV lounge and a vast head.
The wallywind150, on the other hand, can accommodate up to 10 guests, with the master cabin positioned aft to exploit the private access to the cockpit. The latter can be left open to maximize outdoor living, or closed to separate the interior space of the owner’s accommodation from the outside.

The suite with built-in wardrobes, walk-in wardrobe, private office and various seating areas is equal in comfort and volume to that of a 60-metre yacht.

The TV or games room forward can easily be converted into a fifth cabin to accommodate children or a nanny.

The finishes are at the owner’s discretion and the renderings, although they are for illustrative purposes, show what a refined and elegant ambience can be achieved, preferring an essential and natural style typical of the Monaco brand: teak, precious woods and upholstery in neutral colours that combine to create a sense of space, well-being and sophistication.

TecnoRib is once again a BOB finalist with the Pirelli 50

/////

At the top of the rankings, and for the third time, of the prestigious Best Of Boats Award is Tecnorib, this time competing with the Pirelli 50. The Tecnorib flagship, which recently became Sacs Tecnorib, licensee of the Pirelli and P. brands for inflatable boats, won a place among the finalists for the Best For Fun category.

The most coveted award of the leading nautical players has only twice been given to maxi-ribs and both times it was for Tecnorib models from the Walkarounds range.

Once again the Tecnorib-PIRELLI-50jury has chosen a boat with extremely high-quality design, habitability and performance features. In fact, with a length of 15 metres and a top speed of 50 knots, the Pirelli 50 confirms everyone’s expectations and even exceeds them. Tecnorib is synonymous with excellent performance and advanced technology in the nautical world, but with the Pirelli 50, there is more. More specifically: this Pirelli Maxi-Rib was designed by the Mannfelt Design team who combined the sportiness of a Rib with the elegance of yachts, creating a masterpiece of sobriety, style and performance. What is amazing is that not only the technological and naval part has been carefully thought out to provide the ultimate experience for the owner, but also the interior has been thought through down to the last detail. Conceived as a luxury vessel, it has been designed to provide maximum liveability and comfort on board, favouring open spaces from the stern to the forward cabin with the elegance and taste typical of much larger vessels. Remarkable stability when underway, comfort on deck and the possibility of walking freely between the stern and bow thanks to a convincing walkaround deck make this Pirelli 50 one of the best Maxi-Ribs in its category.

This announcement both confirms the industrial growth on which Tecnorib has been focused heavily in recent years and celebrates the expansion of a category that is garnering increasing attention in the boating industry, with a significant increase in demands and sales. Sacs Tecnorib convinces and conquers, not only owners and enthusiasts, but also the BOB Award jury, hoping that it will do so to the end by winning that prestigious award.

Pardo GT75, the latest Pardo Yachts’ 23-metre addition

/////

At the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, Pardo Yachts unveiled its new flagship, the Pardo GT75, which is positioned between the Walkaround and Endurance ranges.

Pardo GT75, a villa on the high seas

Pardo-GT75The new high-performance 75-footer is the new flagship of the Pardo Yachts fleet and is positioned between the Walkaround and Endurance ranges.

The spaces and volumes of the latest GT from the Forlì-based shipyard have been designed for those owners who want to live the yacht like a floating villa in total relaxation, with interiors and exteriors suitably designed to enjoy a privileged sailing experience.

Versatility is one of the GT75’s key features: compared to her little sister the GT52, the Pardo GT75 increases the layout possibilities, both for interior and exterior spaces.

The communication of these spaces materializes thanks to the aft door, which can be fully opened combined with the roof in semi-open mode, the sliding doors to both passages and the side windows that can be opened.

The deep-V hull guarantees both safety at sea and sailing comfort, while maintaining a special focus on sustainability: the aim is always to create a perfect harmony with the environment in which the owners will be sailing.

Four different engines while waiting for the hybrid

The lines of the Pardo GT75 have been designed by Zuccheri Yachts Design, while the Nauta Design studio has handled the interiors and exteriors. There is a wide range of engines available: starting with the standard 3 x D13 IPS 900 and then going up to the 1050, 1200 or 1350, with an engine room already prepared for the Volvo hybrid engine upgrade, a solution that allows high performance to be achieved with a reduced impact on the marine environment.

A configuration for everyone

At the Cannes Yachting Festival thePardo-GT75_Tender-garage two aft area layouts of the Pardo GT75 were unveiled, enhancing its versatility.

The “Tender” version, as the name suggests, can accommodate a tender in the garage underneath the sundeck, which is raised by an electric mechanism.

In the “Beach” version, the entire aft area is transformed into a terrace overlooking the sea, from which there is private access to the owner’s cabin. This is a true suite furnished and designed with extreme care, with a privileged view of breathtaking panoramas and awakenings. When the aft deck is uncluttered, it can be fitted out as desired, with free-standing furnishings making the space even more versatile: beach area by day, terrace overlooking the sea for cocktails and parties at sunset.

Both configurations include the option of fold-down side terraces, which increase the space on board the Pardo GT75 even further. The walkaround character of the new Pardo Yacht flagship is reflected in the side decks, which rise up to deck level to create a very large flush area for relaxation in the bow, where there is a living area with a C-shaped sofa, a table and a generous sundeck amidships.

Elegant and functional interior

The main deck of the Pardo GT75 combines aesthetic and functional features, to guarantee comfort on board even during long cruises, especially when there are guests, who are welcomed by high quality materials and bright environments, thanks to the presence of large windows. On the GT75 too, the interiors are available in a galley-up or galley-down version, to allow the owner to experience the yacht either in a more convivial or more private manner.

In the galley-up version, the main deck features a superbly equipped galley, in front of which a comfortable L-shaped sofa with dining table can accommodate up to 7 guests. The connection with the outdoor dining area in the cockpit makes the main deck one large space to be enjoyed at all times of the day.

In the galley-down layout, on the other hand, the main deck houses a huge living area, equipped with large sofas, which, thanks to the roof in semi-open mode, the side windows and the sliding aft door, provides guests with continuous contact with the sea. In this version, the well-equipped galley is located below deck amidships, allowing the boat to be enjoyed throughout the year.

Pardo-GT75_LowerDeck

Exclusive and quiet sleeping zone

owner's cabinThe layout of the lower deck is no less versatile and different solutions have been designed for the sleeping area as well.

As already mentioned the owner’s cabin in the “Beach” version becomes a real suite, while in the “Tender Garage” version, on the other hand, the same cabin is accessible from the internal staircase, like the rest of the sleeping area.

Space varies according to requirements: the lower deck configuration is designed to accommodate two, three or four cabins, for a total of 10 berths (including a double crew cabin). The standard version of the yacht is the three-cabin, three-bathroom configuration, where the study of the environments has led to the creation of balanced and furnished spaces worthy of larger yachts.

The shipyard’s various proposals designed for this 75 footer make it possible to enjoy the time spent on board in direct contact with the sea in an elegant and exclusive setting.

Pardo GT75: open soul, utmost comfort

But there’s more beyond the premiere of the GT75: in fact, at Pardo Yachts, development has already begun on the Pardo 75, which will be the T-Top version of the flagship. This is a completely open model, which follows the evolution of the Walkaround range.

ICE 62 TARGA, the Italian Blue water cruiser revolution

////

Difficult not to be enchanted when admiring the new Ice 62 Targa. This sailboat, admirably built by an Ice Yachts that moves the bar of quality ever higher, redefines in one fell swoop both the “Blue water cruiser” and “Easy sailing” concepts.

With the launch of this unit,Ice-62-Targa-upwind Ice also shakes up the cards in a market that, unquestionably, sees both Nordic and high-end Italian yards remain more than a step behind in the race towards innovation and performance. Capable of superlative performance, made possible thanks to the genius of the legendary Umberto Felci and a construction studied down to the smallest detail, the new Ice 62 Targa also features a decidedly intriguing design.

On board comfort is the watchword. After all, this boat was created with the aim of being manoeuvrable by just one person, so it is hardly surprising that everything can be handled directly from the control console.

From here it is possible to make turns, trim the jib, mainsail, gennaker, backstay, kicking strap and the various settings (to be set according to the type of sailing ahead).

Ice-62-Targa-backlightWithout forgetting the quality of the materials. The glass-carbon hull is simply a spectacle for the eyes, enhanced by a full carbon deck and a T-Top, also in carbon, which gives a decidedly sporty look to the livery, very clean at the same time.

And again, the fin made of double Weldox steel with very high mechanical performance, or the hydraulic lifting system (by the Cariboni company) with 2.30/ 3.90 variable draft that allows for racing performance at sea while guaranteeing agile entry into port.

In short, in the Ice 62 Targa all the best of the yard’s production has been synthesized with the precise aim of offering a unique experience at sea in terms of performance and comfort, combined with a touch of class and elegance that makes this boat simply amazing.

Sea Trial

There are two of us, the owner and I, and it is only because I already know it is possible that I am not surprised that one person is enough to steer it. And yet it is, and it is in the most natural way possible.

We start Ice-Yachtstesting the engine, a 195 HP Yanmar, which I immediately bring up to 1800 rpm reaching 9.2 knots, a remarkable economical cruising speed for a boat of this size. At 2400 rpm the speed is 10.8 knots. The Ice 62 Targa sails really well, linear and cleanly slicing through the waves with great purity, without a hint of drag. Accelerating further, at 2900 rpm, I touch 12 knots. Then we look at each other, the wind has picked up and I can’t wait to sail.

We’re sailing upwind, and I’m doing it all by myself simply by operating the buttons on the console in front of me.

Of course it takes a bit of getting used to operating the large control panel but, once you have memorized the commands, it is priceless to move around with such simplicity, which is also an important safety factor.

Code 0The Ice 62 Targa moves constantly at a higher speed than the wind. With a 6-knot true wind, the boat sails at almost 7 knots: most blue water cruisers are stationary in these conditions …

Then the wind increases a bit and, with it, so do our speeds. What doesn’t change though is the behaviour of the boat, always predictable, never nervous. With a true wind of 8/10 knots we constantly sail above 9 with peaks of 10 knots to windward: what a boat guys!

We spread out and unroll Code zero, again without leaving the console. The 360 square metres of surface open up to the wind and … and it’s like putting on the turbo. The boat takes off and, in a flash, we are flying at over 13 knots. The stern wake is that of a speedboat and, up to 90/100 degrees, we always travel like this.

Bearing away further we recover more normal speeds, 9/10 knots even if we bear away a lot, but it’s clear that here you need an A2 to run fast. Yes, I know it’s not a racing boat, but man, it makes you want to …

I reluctantly give up the helm and go below deck, there are no creaks, there’s just the wind and the sound of the bow slicing through the waves. Poetry.

The ICE 62 Targa in detail

Let’s get down to the Ice-62-Targa-bowtechnical side of things and try to describe the main features of this boat.

I suggest starting with the absolutely modern design, gorgeous in the chrome colours of the glass-carbon hull, with an inverted bow (scimitar-shaped) with a 1.3 metre long carbon bowsprit, which leaves room for water lines and appendages characterized by a variable draft, from 2.30 to 3.80 metres.

What’s more, the boat is fitted with double rudder blades, bow and stern thrusters that can be retracted for easy mooring, which is essential for solo sailors. The engine, a 195 hp Yammar has enabled us to sail up to 12 knots. Not bad at all.

Carbon is the watchword. As mentioned, it is found in the hull, to make it strong and withstand the stresses of the sea (combined, however, with fibreglass to soften the structure), and again in the deck, to lighten the structure and lower the centre of gravity, or in the canopy, on which, among other things, a solar panel support and the electrically-controlled mainsail traveller are installed. And again in the chainplates, the rudders, the rig and the bimini, which together with the maxi dodger create a perfect synthesis of how the deck of a sailing yacht should always be designed.

Interior-Ice-62-targaWhen sailing, you can exploit a sail area of 240 square metres and a gennaker of 360 square metres, all designed to ‘catch’ the wind immediately and without compromise, which means all the necessary thrust at high speeds but also minimal displacement when sailing upwind, thanks to the hydraulic lifting by the Cariboni Company.

The stern section accommodates two dedicated helmsman’s seats with precisely two carbon-fibre rudders for the best possible control while defying the heavy aerodynamic loads to which the boat is subjected when underway: among other things, under the seats there is a convenient locker for storing everything you need at hand and a raft.

It is precisely when you are at the helm that you realize how beautiful it is. Elegant, sophisticated, absolutely practical both when single-handed and with large crews, this boat has everything you need. Wide benches, very comfortable backrests, and the size of the cockpit itself, absolutely spacious and therefore liveable, but also eye-catching thanks to the Felci Yacht design that embellishes an already unparalleled line.

This quality is master cabinalso evident below deck, where there are no less than three cabins, two heads and a large galley. Here, too, the attention is maniacal: the idea is to make the hull lose weight thanks to lightened panels and innovative solutions, without, however, ever setting aside fine finishes or refined carpentry work.

It is hard to imagine setting limits on this boat on which, in all this, there is also space for 1040 litres of water and 800 litres of fuel, which if we think of long navigation alone or in company are fundamental, as is the large garage, comparable to that of a 70-footer, where a 3.1-metre tender can be accommodated. In a nutshell, superbly oversized.

Fast, exciting, practical, beautiful. This sailboat has marked a turning point in the “blue water cruiser” category by showcasing all the Italian character of something that has always seemed the prerogative of other countries, and which makes Ice Yachts a new reference point at international level.

New Benetti Triumph 65M delivered at the Monaco Yacht Show: here is the classic of the future

An imposing, sleek yacht with sophisticated lines and first-class comfort: this is the new Benetti jewel

Benetti’s masterpiece has become reality.

Presented at the MonacoYacht Show, the newly launched megayacht, the FB270 Triumph 65M, has just been delivered to its owner. A model with an unmistakable white colour, with soft, streamlined external lines created by yacht designer Giorgio Cassetta, completing the naval work designed by Benetti. The magnificent and elegant interiors, on the other hand, are by Benetti’s style office, which collaborated with the Green & Mingarelli Design studio taking care of all the fittings and furnishing details.

Six decks, an aluminium superstructure, a steel 65.40 metre long hull overall, a sauna, a fully equipped gym, a massage room, a Jacuzzi and a 70 square metre beach club, plus a folding platform for the helicopter, positioned at the bow.

Much more than just a boat, Triumph is synonymous with luxury, sophistication and comfort. From the layout and width of the spaces, the privacy guaranteed by the division of the guest areas from those of the crew, to many other details that make a difference… this is the Benetti Triumph 65M.

benetti triumph 65m top viewLet’s take a closer look at this majestic model.

Starting from the bottom, the Lower Deck offers a comfortable space of about 70 square metres, providing immediate access to the sea. Amidships, the sleeping area consists of 4 cabins that can accommodate up to 8 guests, with all the comfort and privacy possible because they are separated from the cabins and areas in the bow, exclusively reserved for the crew.

The Main Deck has a well-protected cockpit, where there are comfortable sofas and tables to enjoy convivial moments on board in maximum comfort. A large saloon has been created amidships, dominated by large windows and modern LEDs on the ceiling, offering a minimal and elegant living/relaxing area for all guests.

Moreover, on the Main Deck Benetti’s designers have reserved a VIP cabin for a special couple of guests that offers a wide sea view.

The Upper Deck, on the other hand, is entirely reserved for the owner, a true custom flat that dominates the entire yacht. The owner’s cabin alone occupies a space of 130 square metres, the Sky Lounge is perfectly consistent with the fittings throughout the yacht and enjoys ample space, with an incredible sea view.

What’s more, triumph-interiorthe Sun Deck is surprising, equipped with a Jacuzzi, sunbathing seats and a table that can seat up to ten people and which, thanks to the wind barriers, can also be used while underway.

The Benetti Triumph is therefore a majestic but sleek custom yacht that conceals the essence of the company behind it: elegance, refined design but above all convenience, usability and comfort for the owner and his guests. The shipyard’s vision has always dominated the creation of these yachts; they are perfectly balanced between large volumes and large windows that open up the rooms, make them bright and almost make you forget you are on a ship.

The classic of the future has arrived, been built and delivered. Made to stand the test of time while maintaining its charm and functionality, it is a classic masterpiece in true Benetti style.

Navetta 75 – The Absolute Sphere, debuting in the States, is the flagship of the range and the perfect combination of stylistic and technological creativity. Navetta 68 – The Absolute Vision combines comfort and elegance, space and safety, innovation and personality, while Navetta 52 – The Absolute Appeal offers significantly greater liveability than other yachts of a similar size. 48 Coupé – The Absolute Horizon will also make her debut at FLIBS, characterized by a sporty look and high level of comfort on board.

These intriguing yachts will certainly attract large crowds, moreover right during one of the busiest boat shows in the world. But if you would like to secure the opportunity to go on board and admire Absolute Yachts’ new boats in preview and with due calm, you can write an email to: marketing@absoluteofamericas.com.  A quick and easy way not to miss this unrepeatable opportunity.

Absolute Navetta 75

Absolute-navetta-75-side-viewNavetta 75 is the flagship of the Absolute fleet: the spherical shape was chosen to represent the quest for perfection and harmony that the shipyard has followed in designing this new craft. As in a sphere, in fact, Navetta 75 contains the best of all the Absolute products that preceded it and the most representative characteristics of the shipyard’s style: technological inventiveness and stylistic sophistication, in an absolute balance of excellence and completeness.

The 23-metre yacht created by Absolute Yachts features large windows, high ceilings, rooms designed on a single level and a full-beam forward master cabin with private access from the main saloon and en-suite bathroom. The boat features sliding doors and generous storage compartments.

The captain’s and crew quarters, designed aft, are versatile in space and use and can accommodate up to three berths, with en-suite facilities and private galley. The exterior spaces are optimized to provide the highest level of versatility and ease of movement on board. Thanks to the modular furnishings and the absence of fixed structural elements, the flybridge and cockpit areas can easily adapt to different needs, ensuring a truly unique and all-encompassing on-board experience.

Absolute 48 Coupé

The 48 Coupé is a Absolute-48-Coupé15-metre yacht with a sporty soul and a configuration focused on comfort, versatility and sustainability. Not surprisingly, the Coupé 48 produces energy thanks to the solar panels integrated in the roof, one of which is transparent and designed to allow pleasant natural lighting, like the air: to avoid operating the air conditioning and consuming additional energy, the large side windows that embrace the entire deck can be opened to cool the rooms, offering a spectacular perspective from inside the boat.

The glass windows of the Absolute Yachts Coupé 48 provide unparalleled scenery, including from the saloon and even from the helm station. The exterior furnishings can be combined in different configurations, adapting to the many needs on board. Below deck there is no lack of comfort thanks to three comfortable cabins for living the boat freely.

The event of the year

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show takes place from 26 to 30 October 2022 in Florida. It is the largest in-water boat show in the world. It takes four numbers (and not just a figure of speech) to justify this claim: $1.79 billion in economic impact, more than a hundred thousand expected participants, 1000 brands present, and more than 1300 boats on display.

For five days, the city of Florida will be at the centre of the boating world, because the industry’s most eagerly awaited event also includes shows, conventions, sea trials, water shows, culinary experiences and exclusive moments.
