Anchoring in the Bay in Tuscany: Cala Violina
A popular destination for many boaters who love to drop anchor in this bay, this enchanting cove, enclosed by two headlands, is located in the Grosseto Maremma region, nestled within the Bandite di Scarlino Nature Reserve, and is considered one of the most beautiful bays in all of Tuscany (previously recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Italy).
A sought-after tourist and beach destination, it features crystal-clear waters and pristine white sands.
The area is exposed to cold northerly winds, but is nonetheless well protected.
On weekends, the bay gets very crowded, both with beachgoers and boats at anchor.
The anchorage is on a sandy seabed.
