The Ports of Abruzzo: Pescara
The Marina di Pescara marina is located in the town center, just outside the south pier of Pescara’s canal harbor, and consists of a 730-meter-long breakwater, a 370 -meter-long jetty, and the north quay. It is connected to the airport, the train station, and the highway.
To access the marina and tobe assigned a berth, you must contact “Marina di Pescara” in advance on VHF channel 06, both day and night. A general danger buoy has been placed near the entrance to indicate possible shallows resulting from storm surges.
It is one of the largest resorts on the Adriatic and has held the European Blue Flag designation since 1990. This prestigious international award is granted by FEE & FEE Environments to resorts that are able to guarantee high-quality standards. Thanks to its strategic location, the most enchanting destinations in the Mediterranean—such as Croatia, Greece, the Gargano coast, the Tremiti Islands, and the Conero Riviera—are all easily accessible.
The Pescara Marina has 1,000 dead-body berths and covers an area of more than 200,000 square meters with a water surface of 107,000 square meters.
Historical background:
In June 1984, construction began on the Pescara marina. The work got underway after the Pescara Chamber of Commerce was granted the use of the area and built the first operational section of the marina. In May 1988, the same Chamber of Commerce established a dedicated internal management body: the Special Agency for the Pescara Marina, which was tasked with completing and managing the marina. Finally, on January 4, 2003, the Pescara Chamber of Commerce transferred the Special Agency for the Pescara Marina to the single-member company MARINA di PESCARA A.R.L., headquartered on Via Papa Giovanni XXIII in Pescara.
