The Marina Uno marina is located in Lignano Sabbiadoro, in the Riviera district, at the mouth of the Tagliamento River. The marina was founded in 1960, just 400 meters from the beautiful and picturesque mouth of the Tagliamento River. The brilliant idea came from Pier Paolo Dalmas, the 1972 world champion in inboard racing, who had the project completed in a short time on land owned by SIL spa, Società Imprese Lignano. The marina was equipped with approximately 180 berths of various sizes, complete with support services, a crane, and fuel. In 1980, the marina was sold to a group of entrepreneurs, and just two years later, work began to expand it to over 400 berths.

The marina was modernized with floating docks, state-of-the-art mooring and technical services, as well as restrooms, hot showers, marina management offices, and parking lots. In the summer of 1983, the Marina Uno dock was inaugurated and took on its current appearance: during the inauguration, the “Frecce Tricolori” Air Force aerobatic team treated spectators to spectacular flyovers of the marina.

In the years that followed, the following were built within the marina: the Hotel Marina Uno, the marina’s swimming pool, two new residential and commercial complexes, and the new storage hangar, which included the installation of two new boat-hoisting cranes. Several maintenance projects carried out at the Marina Uno dock in recent years have included reducing the number of berths to accommodate the increasing width of boats, replacing wooden posts with galvanized steel posts, the expansion of the number of restrooms and sanitary facilities available to boaters, the upgrading of all facilities to comply with new safety regulations, and the implementation of separate waste collection.

Marina Uno is a founding member of the“Marine Lignano Consortium,” which brings together the docks of the Friuli tourist area and is based at the A.P.T. of Lignano Sabbiadoro. Since its establishment in 1990, the dockyard has received the prestigious“European Blue Flag” award from the European Community every year, awarded on the basis of the range and quality of services rendered to boaters.

In 1997, Marina Uno s.r.l. was merged into Lignano Pineta s.p.a., while retaining its managerial and organizational autonomy. This marina’s commitment to collaboration was further confirmed in 1998, when the Marina Uno marina became a member ofthe “Association of Adriatic Ports,” an organization that brings together over 30 ports from Friuli Venezia Giulia to Puglia. In 2001, the Lignano chapter of the Italian Naval League was also established at Marina Uno.
