Description

Portomaran is located on Dossat Island, a few kilometers from the center of Marano Lagunare, in the Province of Udine. The lagoons of Marano Lagunare and Grado are rich in natural, historical, and artistic beauty.

You can get a taste of the lagoon environment by visiting the Valle Canal Novo Nature Reserve, which is rich in flora and fauna typical of this habitat. Near the lagoon, accessible only by sea, lies the Stella River Mouth Regional Nature Reserve, a true paradise for birdwatchers.

It is a calm, unspoiled place that can be traveled by boat following a marked, guided route through a village of casoni (houses made of reeds that once served as shelters for fishermen).

The port is 15 km from the San Giorgio di Nogaro exit on the A4 Venice-Trieste highway and 35 km from Ronchi dei Legionari Airport. By sea, the marina can be reached by entering the Marano Canal and sailing for 4 miles.

The entrance to the marina is on the right, at the beginning of the harbor. The channel has been dredged and is marked by white mooring buoys on the right and red ones on the left. Due to the shallow waters, it is recommended that you proceed with caution and extreme care within the harbor.

The docked area of the Portomaran marina consists almost entirely of floating docks and can accommodate more than 500 boats, in addition to 20 transient berths. The marina also features a dock equipped for people with disabilities.

The ports offer a wide range of services : drinking water and electricity are available at the docks. Customers can also use the restrooms and showers, access the Wi-Fi network throughout the facility, and enjoy meals at the bars and restaurants.

Boat safety within the marina is ensured by the video surveillance system that covers the entire area and frequent patrols by night watchmen.

Within the marina you can also find a gas station, car parking, the yacht club, a pharmacy, a public telephone, a tobacconist that also sells newspapers, and a convenience store.

Waste collection services (including used motor oil, filters, and batteries) are available, as is access to up-to-date and accurate weather information to help you plan your itineraries with confidence. The port authority office is open to the public for information. A relaxation center is scheduled to open.

The marina also features a slipway and two storage areas, one indoor and one outdoor. At the shipyard, adjacent to the marina, specialized maintenance work is performed on engines and boats weighing up to 20 metric tons.

The Portomaran shipyard performs electromechanical and hull repairs on both wooden and fiberglass vessels and offers a wide range of services, including: hauling and launching boats, antifouling and anti-osmosis treatments, scraping and sanding, sandblasting, painting, washing, polishing, and interior cleaning. The shipyard is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; on Saturdays, it is open only in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
