Lenno is situated in a deep inlet, the Gulf of Venus, along the western shore of Lake Como. The Port of Lenno is connected by ferries and hydrofoils to the major towns on Lake Como. It stretches for about 200 meters and provides mooring for about 40 boats of various sizes. The harbor is located on the northern shore, sheltered by the Gulf, which opens to the east for about 350 meters.

The harbor is marked by a red-and-white pole, which serves as a rough indicator of water depth. Please note that there is an additional, recently built T-shaped pier for public use. The landing site is located on the north shore, close to the shoreline, at the Lavedo promontory, which slopes down to the tip of Balbianello. Although it is not a traditional port in the strict sense, it is possible, if necessary, to dock at the floating pier positioned perpendicular to the coast, which is used for local boat landings. The gulf, characterized by shallow waters, offers the possibility of safe anchorage.

The area is characterized by an almost complete absence of wind, except for a few mild morning episodes during which light thermal breezes of modest intensity may occur. During weather disturbances or thunderstorms, strong winds may occur throughout the entire area. It is worth noting that during thunderstorms, the Menaggino wind spreads out in a fan-shaped pattern as it reaches the lake.

A promenade starts at the harbor, runs along the entire inlet, and continues south to the tip of Balbianello, which is home to a famous villa that has been used as a filming location by several foreign directors. Also worth visiting are the medieval church of Santo Stefano and the Romanesque baptistery.

In Lenno, there are several beaches overlooking the Gulf of Venere. The first beach, located toward Menaggio, is the beach at Campo, situated at the mouth of the Val Perlana River, with a large parking lot nearby. Then there is thethe Lido di Lenno , which features a sandy beach, sunbeds, and umbrellas available for a fee, and immediately after that, a wide pebble beach with free access and nearby parking. The San Giorgio beach , just past the lakeside promenade, features a large lawn and offers free access, with parking nearby.

In Lenno it is possible to taste lake fish dishes including the perch risotto, missoltini, carp fish, fried bleak, and Tremezzina-style fish soup with pike, trout, chub, burbot, and perch.
