Anchorages at the Bay of Good Sleep, sheltered at Cape Palinuro
This is an anchorage in Campania where you can drop anchor and relax in the beautiful blue waters near the Arco Naturale. With its clear waters and stunning scenery, the Buon Dormire anchorage is typical of the Cilento region, with its traditional sites preserved in all their splendor.
The area is well sheltered from the prevailing winds; it is very crowded during the day but generally much quieter in the evening, allowing for complete relaxation. It is no coincidence that it was named Baia del Buon Dormire.
Once you go ashore, you can enjoy traditional restaurants serving delicious food—primarily seafood dishes, of course. The locals are always very hospitable to tourists, and the handicrafts you’ll find in the streets of the towns are particularly noteworthy.
The anchorage remains an unspoiled corner of paradise, with steeply sloping vegetation and water that shimmers in shades ranging from green to blue. It is easily recognizable because the islet of Coniglio lies directly across from the anchorage; its name refers to the animal’s shape.
