The port of Capri, which serves as the island’s main seaport, is located in the hamlet of Marina Grande. The port was built within a natural cove and is therefore sheltered from the wind and waves. The inner part of the port is also protected by two artificial piers.

The main pier is located to the west; it has three arms and is quaysided on the inside. The breakwater pier, on the other hand, is located to the east; it has two arms and is also quaysided; several floating docks branch off from the breakwater pier.

The port is internally divided into two parts thanks to the presence of an inner breakwater pier that creates two distinct basins: on the eastern side we find the area reserved for tourist boats and fishing boats; the other part, to the west, is reserved for the passenger port of call and is considered the more commercial part.

In the eastern basin, the one with a tourist vocation, a dock has been carved out between the breakwater pier, the shore and a two-armed jetty.

Many cruise ships call at Capri because of its great beauty, but because the port cannot accommodate such large vessels, they dock offshore: lifeboats are used as a shuttle service to bring passengers to the mainland.

The port of Capri is located in the northern part of the island, a fair distance from downtown Capri. However, there are many convenient ways to reach downtown: you can choose between the bus, a taxi, or the historic funicular.

The marina offers 300 berths, 30 of which are reserved for vessels in transit. Access to the port is permitted only to vessels up to 60 meters in length; however, vessels 30 meters or longer must obtain authorization.

Within the ports, it is necessary, for one’s own safety and the safety of others, to respect the movements of commercial vessels and give precedence to outgoing vessels

Within the harbor, it is prohibited to navigate at a speed exceeding 2 knots. Mooring is done using lines tied to the shore or with a mooring buoy.

There are numerous services available within the port. The docks are well-lit and equipped with outlets for drinking water and electricity. The fuel station dispenses gasoline, diesel, and mixed fuel and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Facilities include a slipway, a boat ramp, and three mobile cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 40 metric tons. Storage services are available both indoors and outdoors. We also perform engine repairs, electrical repairs, and repairs to wooden or fiberglass hulls.

Security is ensured by a 24-hour security service. The weather service provides boaters with up-to-date and accurate weather information. A pilot service is also available. Mooring attendants and divers are on duty at the port.

Boaters can take advantage of the trash collection service, as well as the restrooms and showers provided for their use. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and ice vendors near the marina. There is also a parking lot and a phone booth.

In Ostro or Scirocco winds, the nearest safe anchorage is Marina di Caterola; when the Ponente blows, Grotta Bianca is recommended instead.
