Vodice is a very popular tourist destination, and those sailing in northern Dalmatia often stop here before reaching Šibenik and then continuing upstream along the Krka River. The river is navigable as far as Skradin, where you’ll find another ACI Marina. From here, you can reach the Krka Waterfalls on foot along a dirt road or by water taxi; the spectacular sight of the waterfalls is well worth the long journey upriver (on the river, the maximum speed is 5 knots, and you must stay to the right at all times). The area is historically famous for its abundant water supply; in fact, in the center of Vodice’s main square, there are two wells considered symbols of the settlement.

Vodice is strategically located for tourists because, in addition to being close to Šibenik and Krka National Park, it is also not far from the Town of Zadar, and the Kornati Islands are easily accessible via daily ferry service. In addition, there are numerous hotels, campgrounds, and private accommodations, and there’s no shortage of nightlife. You can choose from several beachfront venues, but the best known is the Hacienda, a nightclub with a very active lineup during the summer. Vodice offers a wide range of tourist attractions, including food and wine experiences and sports facilities, making it a recommended destination for those who want to spend time exploring the inland areas. There are many sports to enjoy, ranging from water sports like scuba diving and jet skiing to summer activities such as beach volleyball, as well as inland sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball. Wellness facilities—including a massage center, sauna, and solarium—are also easily accessible.

The ACI marina in Vodice is one of the few to have received the European Blue Flag, so the area is clean and the local residents have a strong commitment to the environment. In addition, the marina is sheltered from the wind and protected by two breakwaters (unlit). Entering the marina is fairly straightforward; the town is situated in a very wide bay, and the marina is open year-round. At night, it is clearly marked by a flashing lighthouse (5-second interval). During the day, however, a very tall hotel building is easily visible from the sea. To enter the harbor, look north toward a monument shaped like a torch; special caution is required due to a shoal marked by a black danger sign with red bands. You can enter by staying clear of the shoal on both sides, but the southwest entrance—on the right as you enter—is preferable because it is wider and safer. The ACI marina is large and well-equipped. All services are available, including technical assistance, a nautical supply store, newly renovated restrooms with showers, a 25-metric-ton crane, and a 40-metric-ton travel lift. The fuel station is located outside the ACI marina (water depth 3 meters; mooring can be difficult when winds are coming from the south).
