Description

The port of Oneglia, located right in the city center, is a commercial port situated east of Porto Maurizio, which is a tourist port. It consists of two basins: the first, which forms the outer harbor, is partially quayed, while the second is fully quayed. The port of Oneglia is protected by two piers: the Nuovo Molo Corto breakwater extends 200 meters southward from the mouth of the Impero Stream, while the Molo Artiglio II pier runs along a south–west axis.

The seabed is mixed, partly muddy and partly silty. Along the quay, the water depth ranges from a minimum of 1.50 meters to a maximum of 8.50 meters.

The port offers 100 berths, 10 of which are reserved exclusively for vessels in transit that are no longer than 15 meters. The Oceanic Pier is available for commercial vessels up to 100 meters in length. There is also a tourist section, dedicated exclusively to large commercial yachts that provide charter services.

The port of Oneglia is reserved exclusively for commercial traffic and local fishing vessels. However, vessels not falling into the categories listed above may moor there if no other mooring spaces are available and with prior authorization from the Harbor Master’s Office.

In such a case, the maximum draft of the vessels must not exceed 7.30 meters for vessels intending to moor on the Aicardi quay and must be strictly less than 6.50 meters for vessels that will moor on the G.B. Cuneo Wharf.

Since it is not a tourist marina, the port of Oneglia does not have restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, or the other amenities typically found at a marina or tourist port. However, since it is right in the city center, numerous bars, restaurants, and shops are just a short distance away. The waterfront promenade is particularly noteworthy, with the arcades of Calata Cuneo on one side and the charming little harbor on the other.

Services provided include lighting, waste collection, and the supply of electricity and drinking water. Facilities include a slipway, a dry dock, a 30-metric-ton mobile crane, and a travel lift with a capacity of up to 100 metric tons. The marina also provides electrical and engine repairs, as well as repairs to wooden, fiberglass, and steel hulls.
