Description

Cala dei Normanni is a dry dock dedicated to small boats. Located at the western end of the Gulf of Palermo, more precisely within the Arenella neighborhood, the port is particularly convenient due to its proximity to the town: Palermo’s well-connected historic center is only 4 km away. The ferry terminal and train station are located 3 and 5 km from the marina, respectively.

The area in which Cala dei Normanni is located is characterized by a very ancient history: an important crossroads of cultures, here it is possible to admire ancient and modern settlements and choose from a large number of itineraries designed to allow discovery and exploration of the area.

Cala dei Normanni is reserved for Rubber Boats and small vessels, with a maximum permitted length of 10 meters. The marina offers 90 berths on fixed and floating docks (equipped with running water, electricity, and compressed air for inflating Rubber Boats) during the summer; during the winter season, the port features a concrete dock that can accommodate up to 15 boats.

For recreational boaters, 24-hour assistance at the dock is guaranteed, as well as hauling and launching services until 4:00 p.m.; it is also possible to take advantage of the services providedby the specialized mechanical workshop located within the port, which is open even on Sundays and holidays. The storage area covers 5,000 square meters, 1,000 of which are covered, and can accommodate approximately 200 boats.

The entrance to the harbor is located 2 miles north of the port of Palermo and consists of two basins: the new basin is to the east, while the entrance to the old basin is to the west. The entrance to the marina is clearly visible thanks to the white lighthouse, which shines its light from its position on the breakwater.

There are numerous services available within the port: boaters will have access to bars, an internet café, and diving centers that offer small boat and jet ski rentals. The ports also offer Wi-Fi in the dock areas and on the floating piers (for a fee after the first 30 minutes) and private parking.

Cala dei Normanni is the largest dry dock in Sicily. Management advises boaters to call 091540264 or 091544732 to schedule the launch of their boat, thereby reducing wait times to a maximum of 15 minutes even on the busiest days.

Moored boats are closely monitored both during the day and at night by port staff through the use of numerous CCTV cameras placed throughout the dock.

In case of adverse weather conditions, the management reserves the right to pull all boats ashore even without prior notice to ensure their protection.

When boats are hauled out, they undergo a thorough inspection by Cala dei Normanni’s specialized staff. First, the hull, appendages, and propulsion system are checked to ensure they are intact; next, the staff use fresh water to rinse the parts of the boat that have been in contact with seawater and ensure that the onboard electrical systems are turned off and disconnected. A special log is carefully filled out to ensure that these procedures are carried out correctly.

Available to customers is a free App for Apple or Android mobile devices that allows them to book hauling and launching of their boat, consult the price list, and view the numerous range of services provided by the port.

Do you need to sell your boat? You are in the right place! yachtdigest.com is in fact the largest online portal on recreational boating and in this section you will be able to write your ad for free if you want to sell your boat. Adding a new sales message is very simple and intuitive as is finding a boat you are interested in buying, but to make your listing even more appealing, we want to give you some general but important pointers that you can follow if you wish.

First of all, try to personalize your ad, describing the history of the boat and perhaps the reason why you are selling it, this way you will gain more trust from the reader.

You can call it “half-new” if it is almost new, or “used” by specifying whether or not it is in good condition. It indicates the condition of the engines, the year of registration, how many owners it has had-most importantly, it indicates whether the boat has been owned by a single owner: it increases interest to those reading the ad.

The goodness of your craft must shine through in your message, because before you can convince someone, you yourself must be convinced that the product is good.

It is important that no spelling errors are made in the advertisement, so reread the message well before putting it online. The language then must be clear and simple, understandable to all.

It serves to attract interest and induce the reader to continue reading; it is the most important part and should summarize in one line the whole message we want to give. Unfortunately, you don’t have much chance to stand out much except with something really original to attract attention. So focus on truly original details of the boat, its real qualities: in the yachtdigest.com portal this brief summary will appear by hovering over the picture of the boat with the mouse.

It is important to clearly include the general record of the vessel. Always enter: shipyard, model, length, width, draft, engines, number of cabins, year of construction, price.

In the boat sheet accurately enter all boat details, standard and extra equipment. It is useful to communicate many details and details for those who are really interested and will continue reading beyond the first few lines.

Suggest to the reader who wants to buy the best features of your craft, and do not indicate-unless it is necessary to inform the buyer in advance-information that might negatively influence the reader.

Always indicate the price. Unless you absolutely do not want to deal, we recommend adding the words “price negotiable” which gives an incentive for the buyer to contact you.
